Episode #000 – Amazing Fantasy #15

Check it out, nerds! The inaugural episode of the Radioactive Love Podcast is here! I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did creating it! This is episode #000 – Amazing Fantasy #15! In it we get the origin of the Amazing Spider-Man!

Here are a few factoids you may not know about this issue:

  • Up until #15, the magazine was titled Amazing Adult Fantasy.
  • Stan Lee actually had tried to get Spider-Man published for some time leading up to the publication of AF #15. Publisher Martin Goodman kept pushing back on the book. When word came down that Amazing Fantasy was getting dropped, Stan exercised his right of insanity by pitching Spider-Man to Goodman.
  • Reluctantly, Goodman ran the book and sales were so great that seven months later they launched Amazing Spider-Man #1

As promised, here’s the Rod Serling intro:

  1. This first episode was great, sir. I learned a lot about Spidey’s origin that I hadn’t previously known, like how bad he was treated by everyone before the bite. Look forward to the coming episodes to continue learning more about my all-time favorite Marvel character.

    1. Thanks, Daniel! I’m glad you dug it! I aim to make these entertaining AND educational.
